Press Release: new site acquisition Brentford
Merchant Land announces exciting expansion into west London with new site acquisition
Boutique London developer Merchant Land has acquired a new one-acre site on Windmill Road in Brentford.
The Windmill Road property, a light industrial park built in the 1960’s, offers huge scope for enhancing the local community and bringing new job opportunities to the area.
It is both extremely well-located and connected to transport links. There is easy access onto the M4 motorway; Brentford Station is 0.6 km away offering services into London via Vauxhall; and underground links to central London are nearby via Northfields and South Ealing stations. The transport connections in the area will also be substantially upgraded with the opening of the Crossrail in 2018.
The property also benefits from access to green spaces including a number of local parks, the Grand Union Canal and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. The Brentford Campus of the University of West London is also located a short distance away.
Brentford is already undergoing an extensive regeneration programme and this new acquisition will allow Merchant Land to play a part in this.
Katherine McCullough, development director comments: “Brentford is a popular area due to its excellent transport links and good value homes. A huge regeneration project is currently taking place, injecting new life and bringing a wealth of opportunities to the area. We are incredibly excited to have acquired in Windmill Lane and to be part of this whole regeneration zone.
The Windmill Road site acquisition builds on an incredibly successful 12 months for Merchant Land, which has seen construction complete on OneTwentyFourW1 – a project of just twelve luxury apartments and penthouses in Marylebone; in addition to work beginning on its Charlotte Street development – a mixed use scheme and heritage asset of note; planning progressed for a 22-storey office and retail offering in EC3; and retail letting finalised at Gray’s Inn, WC1.
