A boutique developer is acquiring a one-acre site in West London

Merchant Land, a boutique London developer, has acquired a new one-acre site on Windmill Road in Brentford.

The Windmill Road property, a light industrial park built in the 1960s, offers the potential to enhance the local community and bring new job opportunities to the area.

It is well-located and connected to transport links, with access onto the M4 motorway. Brentford Station is 0.6 km away offering services into London via Vauxhall, and underground links to Central London are nearby via Northfields and South Ealing stations.

Katherine McCullough, development director, said: “Brentford is a popular area due to its excellent transport links and good value homes.

“A huge regeneration project is currently taking place, injecting new life and bringing a wealth of opportunities to the area. We are incredibly excited to have acquired in Windmill Lane and to be part of this whole regeneration zone.”

The transport connections in the area will also be substantially upgraded with the opening of the Crossrail in 2018.

Brentford is already undergoing an extensive regeneration programme, and this acquisition should allow Merchant Land to play a part in this.

The Windmill Road site acquisition builds on an existing 12 months for Merchant Land, which has seen construction complete on OneTwentyFourW1 – a project of 12 luxury apartments and penthouses in Marylebone.

In addition to work beginning on its Charlotte Street development – a mixed use scheme and heritage asset of note; planning progressed for a 22-storey office and retail offering in EC3; and retail letting finalised at Gray’s Inn, WC1.
